Prescribed use can include the appearance of the mark, its location on the label, the file numbers associated file numbers, and the ink is used to print the label.

No one reads these labels, but if they’re incorrect, a company can find itself in serious trouble.

The challenge for the designer is knowing what marks and ratings need to be on the label — asking the right questions — and then making all the material fit.
